Quiet times.

The other day when I was speaking on the phone to a friend about how quiet it is in my life at the moment, About how it seems God is not speaking to me much.

At the time I was wondering if there was anything wrong with me or I have committed some sin that was keeping me from hearing God but this was not so.

I have since found out that there are many more out there who are going through the same thing.

It’s a season of Quiet – A quiet time for those of us going through this.

Its of God.

Many think they have be giving word after word - Message after message or there is something wrong with them for we live in a world of pressure to work harder and harder – To be more productive and efficient and not to waste time.

In today’s world we told to do more in less time – If we do not then we are considered lazy – Inefficient and left behind – Even given the chop so to speak.

This has become so ingrained in our thinking that its got into the church and likewise we can end up do the same thing.

With this many feel under pressure to meet deadlines – To produce a word for people are expecting us to – To earn our pay before God and man.

It would be so easy to perform to conform for there is so much pressure from others to give a word which is more often than not out of season which is of the flesh even if it does sound good at the time.

So let us not be worried by those quiet times – Let us rest in those quiet times sent by God.

May we stop being pressured by the world and learn to be quiet when God wants us to be quiet – For we cannot be on the go all the time.

And remember these quiet times may last sometime – Weeks – Months or even years.

May we not burn out as many in the world have done.

For as our bodies need daily rest – So do our spirits.

May we learn by those quiet times sent by God.

ECCLESIASTES  ch 3 v 1 – 8.

Ec:3:1: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Ec:3:2: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Ec:3:3: A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

Ec:3:4: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Ec:3:5: A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

Ec:3:6: A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

Ec:3:7: A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Ec:3:8: A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
