About trees.

By Dave Howe.

The other day I found out something interesting about trees.

I was looking at a weather chat site when I saw this about trees growing under domes – I think its called the Eden project or something similar.

They found that the tree trunks were weak and starting to bend under their own weight – The reason why is because the trees had never been exposed to wind, Never been exposed to pressure for it was the pressure of the wind on them that made the trees strong standing up straight and tall.

At first the trees grew fast with no sign of trouble – They were fed and watered and kept in a controlled environment that the scientists thought was right for them.

But when they got bigger is when the trouble was seen.

I would also think that the roots were not too deep and strong as well.

This speaks to me about we need to be properly rooted and grounded – Rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus with the wind around us.

For there are many who just want to sit back in their comfort zones – Sit back in controlled environments that they are told are good for them – Sit behind closed doors within 4 walls which the experts tell them is good for them.

Kept all nice and warm – Well fed and watered but as soon as even a draught comes then they would complain about the door being left open.

God does not want us to go through hard times they say so anything that disturbs their peace and sleepy quiet and must be of the devil.

For we are rich and in need of nothing – We have it all they would say in their hearts.

For when the wind does come that house will be blown away for they have not been rooted on the rock Christ Jesus in the open air with the wind – Sun and rain all around them,  Helping them, Making them grow into the strong trees that God wants them to be.

Yes they would be found pitiful – Bind and naked on that day.

So let us learn from what’s happened to the trees in that dome – Let us hear what the Holy Spirit says to us through this.

May the winds blow Lord.
