Soap opera dreams.

 

Are you having soap opera dreams ?

 

We all dream every night – its part of the way God made us.

 

Today I wish address the issue of dream interpretation.

I find there is a worrying trend among Christians to have their dreams interpretated.

This trend I believe is following what the world is doing with its many books on the subject – books which tell what colours and symbols mean in their dreams.

I fear we have been caught up as the pagans have – Caught up with the world as we have on many things today – For I believe many teachers have risen up to tickle our ears with what we want to hear – For many think they are experts on these things but in reality are not teachers at all.

 

The only people that wanted to know the meaning their dreams were pagan kings and others as far I remember like Joseph with the king of Egypt – also another example was with the butler and baker in prison.

When believers had dreams they did not need to go to others for it was clear to them – Like Joseph the husband of Mary when the Lord warned him by a dream to escape to Egypt for the enemy was trying to kill baby Jesus.

For the prophets of old did not have to have their dreams interpretated.

 

I dream every night – so much of it vivid and colourful but very few are from the Lord.

Most of our dreams are influenced by what we see on TV – by what’s happening around us – by what’s on our minds.

 

An example was yesterday I watched an old WW2 film about the battle of the river plate in 1939.

That night guess what I dreamed about – pictures from that film.

 

When I do have a dream from God I know about it for there is a difference from those everyday dreams – don’t ask me to explain it – I just know in my spirit for no man has taught me – only the Lord.

 

So are we having soap opera dreams – TV dreams – dreams of what happened during the day – dreams of our desires – Of our secret fears.

So much this as with many things can take our eyes off the Lord and will lead us off the narrow way of the Lord.

 

I would like to say let us please be careful with these things – Let us enquire of the Lord – Enquire of the Scriptures.
